BTMP Magazine
Publication Design
A magazine featuring Laura BC’s photography
For this project, I designed a short-format creative magazine titled BTMP, crafted as a visual showcase of the incredibly talented photographer, Laura BC. This publication was meticulously designed to spotlight her stunning work, with large-scale photography layouts that allow each image to breathe and shine.
The magazine not only presents her captivating visuals but also offers insight into her journey as an artist. It features thoughtfully written sections about her background, creative process, and what inspires her work, giving readers a more intimate look into her world.
From a design perspective, the focus was intentionally placed on clean photo placement and minimal typography. I wanted the photography to take centre stage, letting each image tell its own story without distraction. The layout choices reflect a modern and refined editorial style, prioritising visual flow and balance across the spreads.
This was a project where I really got to explore the relationship between space, scale, and image hierarchy within publication design. I experimented with a few layout techniques and typefaces to frame and complement Laura’s work, all while maintaining consistency in visual tone.
I refreshed this piece in my final year of university to add to my portfolio. I did this by using updated mockups, giving it a more polished, professional presentation. It remains one of my favourite layout projects to date, both for its simplicity and the way it captures the essence of Laura's creative voice.
