Artistry Magazine
Publication Design
Artistry is a vibrant and dynamic monthly magazine concept I designed to celebrate the global community of emerging creatives. Targeted at young artists, designers, and illustrators aged 18 to 35, the magazine provides an inside look into the lives, workflows, and standout projects of eleven featured creatives in each issue. It was designed to serve not just as a source of inspiration, but as a platform that fosters connection and community within the creative industry.
The design of Artistry reflects the bold spirit of the creative world. I used bright colours, bold typography, and a stylised, modern layout to create a magazine that feels energetic and current. Each spread is carefully structured to maintain a visual rhythm, ensuring a smooth flow between text and imagery while giving each featured artist’s work the space it deserves.
The layout was built with storytelling in mind. I focused on clean grid systems and thoughtful composition to balance editorial content with visual impact. The typography was chosen to be expressive yet readable, adding personality without overwhelming the content.
Key design features include:
- A striking cover design to draw immediate attention
- Consistent use of colour and type to unify the magazine’s visual tone
- Flexible page templates that adapt to different artist features and content formats
- Seamless integration of quotes, captions, and callouts to enhance the reading experience
- Structured image layouts that highlight the artist's work while guiding the reader’s eye
This project was part of my exploration into editorial and publication design, where I aimed to create a print product that is both inspirational and functional. Artistry embodies the essence of the creative industry bold, ever-evolving, and full of passion and it was a rewarding challenge to design a platform that could reflect that energy so clearly.
